Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Ghostbox, including our website, disposable email inboxes, application programming interface (“API”), webhooks and related services (together, the “Service”), operated by the operator of Ghostbox (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Ghostbox provides receive-only, temporary email addresses on domains we operate (and, for eligible plans, on domains you control). Messages are stored for a limited retention period that depends on your plan and are then permanently deleted. The Service cannot be used to send email.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.
• You may use basic features without an account. Accounts are created through Google sign-in; you're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your API keys and inbox passwords secret.
• We may refuse, suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: don't use the Service for anything illegal, for fraud, to evade bans or abuse other platforms at scale, to harass anyone, or to receive content that exploits minors. We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

4. Not for important or sensitive communication

Disposable inboxes are designed for convenience and privacy, not for long-term or critical correspondence. Anyone who knows or guesses an unprotected address on a public domain may be able to receive mail sent to it after it expires and is reused. Do not use the Service for banking, government, medical, legal, account-recovery or other important email. Use password-locked inboxes and paid retention where appropriate, and never rely on the Service as your only copy of anything.

5. Plans, payments & trials

• Paid plans (“Pro”, “Ultra” and any others we offer) are prepaid for the period shown at checkout (monthly, yearly or lifetime). Plans do not renew automatically; when a period ends your account returns to the Free plan unless you purchase again.
• Payments are processed in cryptocurrency by our third-party payment provider, NOWPayments. Prices are set in USD; the crypto amount is calculated by the provider at checkout. Network fees, exchange-rate movements and payments sent to the wrong address or network are your responsibility.
• Your plan is activated once the provider confirms the payment. Under- or partial payments may not activate a plan until the full amount is received.
• “Lifetime” means for as long as we operate the Service and the plan in a substantially similar form; it is not a guarantee of service in perpetuity.
• Free trials and promotional codes are limited to one per person unless stated otherwise, have no cash value and may be withdrawn at any time. Abuse of trials (for example by creating multiple accounts) may result in termination.
• We may change prices and plan features. Changes don't affect periods you've already paid for, except where required for security, legal compliance or abuse prevention. If we reduce retention for a plan, messages already stored keep at least a 24-hour grace period.
• Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. API & fair use

API access is subject to the rate limits and daily quotas of your plan, which may be adjusted to protect the stability of the Service. You must not attempt to circumvent limits, scrape the Service outside the API, or resell raw API access without our written permission. Webhooks must point to endpoints you control.

7. Custom domains

If you connect a domain, you confirm you own or are authorized to manage it and are responsible for its DNS records. Mail for that domain is delivered only while your plan includes custom domains; if your plan lapses, delivery for the domain stops and its inboxes expire normally.

8. Content & privacy

You're responsible for how you use the email you receive. We don't claim ownership of message content. We process data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may scan incoming mail automatically (for example to detect verification codes, block spam and malware, or enforce these Terms), and remove content or inboxes that violate these Terms.

9. Availability & changes

We work hard to keep the Service fast and available but provide it “as is” and “as available”. Domains may be added, rotated, blocked by third parties or retired at any time. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice where possible.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any third-party website will accept our domains or deliver mail to them.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, messages, profits, accounts on third-party services or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim or USD $20. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violations of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the website at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
